Couples Therapy

I help couples who are caught in unproductive cycles, and who want more intimacy and ease in their relationship. I work with couples of all sorts, including non-traditional and same-sex couples as well as opposite sex couples. Some common areas of focus include:

-Helping you learn to have productive conflicts instead of repetitive, painful fights.
-Learning modes of communication that are healthy and clear.
-Getting out of cycles of blame, criticism, and attack.
-Dealing with the aftermath of infidelity.
-Reconnecting when the spark has gone out.
-Understanding how each partner's early life experience shapes their relationship style.
-How to ask for what you want in the way that's most likely to be successful.
-Dealing with parenting issues.
-Understanding the dynamics in your relationship so you can avoid familiar pitfalls.

As a couples therapist, you will find me to be nonjudgmental, active, curious, insightful, and reliable. I draw upon my many years of psychotherapy experience and my advanced training in understanding human relationships to help you find more love, fun, and safety in your partnership. Call me to see if we might be a fit, at 510-597-1261.
