Megan Rundel, Ph.D. - Clinical PsychologistTransforming the demons
Sometimes you know the demons; they are depression, anxiety, or low self-esteem. Sometimes you don't know the demons; they quietly become a part of your life as a series of difficult relationships, recurring struggles with work, compulsive behaviors, or a sense of inner emptiness. Demons grow large and multiply in the shadows of the unexamined life. And when we open them up to the light, the demons can scatter or transform. My work is focused on helping people with their demons. I am especially skilled in helping people whose lives are being taken over by worry, those who are self-critical, procrastinators, people who are struggling with compulsive behavior, and those who face recurring difficulties in relationships. I also have special interests in spirituality, creativity, the arts, and issues of gender and sexuality. I have experience and interest in working with lesbian, gay, and bisexual clients as well as straight clients. My style is direct and interactive; I respect your intelligence and your ability to be a full collaborator in this process. In my work with clients, I move between offering practical, active clarification and guidance on current difficulties, and coming to understand and heal past sorrows. We can move at your pace, including whatever comes up along the way. I do individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in a model that is well-suited to resolving longstanding difficulties. I see people in therapy at a minimum of once per week, and people in analysis three to five times per week. Please contact me for a consultation to see if we might be a fit. |
